1. If a most ordinary house you have can transform into a dreamland with outdoor floor lights. The deck is a very vital part for your day-end relaxation. Enlightening a deck is a good art. You may think about some well-designed and matching floor lamps surrounding your deck. That will make the look very pleasant and make you psychologically happy. These tall outdoor floor lamps can illuminate a vast area with cool and soothing brightness. However, selection of the light style with the existing outdoor structure of your house is most important. Don’t think about the installation of floor lamps in a large extent. It will ruin everything along with your pocket. Be creative and selective in choosing the forms and the position of lights. A motion sensor light has an ‘electronic eye’ that uses a passive infrared sensor to detect the changes of infrared radiation within the range of the predetermined working area of it. This change of radiation is determined by the presence of any living object as soon as it comes within its range. Every living object, either a human being or an animal emits heat, which creates a infrared radiation signature. Even a non-living object such as car also emits the same radiation. This radiation is beyond the range of human eye, but when it comes under the range of the electronic eye of the light, the radiation signature gets elevated above the background level and the light detects the radiation easily. As soon as it detects, it turns on and illuminates a vast area around it. Even this illumination sustains for a certain period after the motion stops. This timing can be pre-programmed from one to nine minutes. The sensors used in these types of light are of two types – infrared and microwave.

3. It is very important to decide about the amount of light you will install in your outdoor lighting design. It is advised by the designers not to use much lights and the brightness of the lights should never be more. In fact, more light outdoor light fixtures of lesser intensity are usually better then fewer light fixtures with high intensity. High intensity lights may be a cause of your defeat particularly for the security. The high intensity lights always produce a glare that may disturb your vision and creates a darkness around it, which the thieves like to hide themselves.

4. Path lighting or driveway lighting is a very important part for the safety of yourself while walking on the path or while driving in your car. All the lights must be directed downward to avoid the reflection. The path lights and driveway lights are very cheap and with huge varieties if you choose solar lights. These lights are with no wires and can be installed just by fixing it on the ground as a stick.

5. If you need to enlighten a large area of your home exterior by low voltage lights, you are advised not to use a single transformer. As less low voltage transformer you use, will cause a long wire distance run will that will eliminate a big drop of voltage at the low voltage outdoor lighting fixtures. All low voltage outdoor lighting wiring connections must be tight and sealed for better system function. Appoint a professional electrician for this type of installation.
